Adventures
I’m in KL now and I have plenty to blog about..
Warning: There may be disgusting descriptions ahead.
Saturday:
Last day of school – there was the usual cleaning campaign. Before that I was doing magazine work. Cleaning campaign was usual but not the whole class helped and we didn’t really clean the class thoroughly. There wasn’t even a teacher supervising anyways. After dismissal, I went to the gerai with Jay and Anand. We talked basically; Jay mentioned that he accidentally cut himself the day before and I was saying, I’ve never cut myself before.
I really shouldn’t have said that. Let’s be superstitious (at least when I told my mum that, she went all superstitious and said you should never think of things like that etc – no, I wasn’t thinking about getting cut). Yes, I got cut. REALLY badly. (WARNING ZONE) It was so deep that when I bent my thumb, I can see layers moving. How did it happen? I was scraping off wood with a blade.. yes I am silly. So yea when everything was going smoothly, suddenly blood oozes out non-stop. I was like, “Oh crap.” I had to use my other hand to catch the dripping blood or the floor would be reddened. Went to the toilet and put my wound under running water. The bleeding refused to stop – terrifying. I definitely had to tell my dad and so I walked to the living room and said, “Daddy, I cut my hand.” He was like, “HUH? How deep?” He takes a look and says, “Better go see doctor.” It was THAT serious. So we went to A&E – Accident and Emergency Department. It was an experience really, going there. Oh, it only started to hurt when the bleeding stopped. So then in room 24, there was a doctor whom I think was supervising with two others whom I think are interns. The doctor asked questions and one of them was, “Did you cut it accidentally?” …I was shocked. He actually thought I could have cut it .. on purpose. Hello~ I’m not insane here. The doctor asked if I cut the bone. I don’t remember anything like that. As a precaution he says, he sent me for an x-ray.. after the suture. I finally know what a suture is after hearing it on Grey’s Anatomy so many times. Suture is stitching up. To emphasize on how serious it was, I got 4 stitches (not the first time, mind you). Before the suture, I got 3 injections – one on the right arm and 2 on my left thumb i.e. site of injury. While the interns were sewing the wound up, they were talking non-stop in Bruneian Malay and I didn’t understand half of what they said. It’s quite annoying when they keep talking and talking while they are sewing your thumb. I felt like saying, “Are you people even CONCENTRATING?!” But, I just looked away and examined the inside of the A&E room 24. It looks a bit rundown. RIPAS could make use of renovations. Anyways, after that was x-ray time. The room I went in to was huge and the whole wall was painted with Winnie the Pooh characters – humongous ones. They’re twice my size; there’s a huge Eeyore staring blankly at you and Winnie the Pooh with the pot of honey. Frankly, they look scary when they’re so big. X-ray results showed no injury to the bone. Oh, the doctor speaks really good English and my dad thought he looked weird while I thought he just looked comical. (END of WARNING ZONE)
What a fun way of starting the holidays. The day before that, the netball smacked right into my nose. *ouch* So now I have to do things mainly with one hand.
Sunday:
Woke up past 5 am and did final packing. I forgot my toothbrush though. Anyways, my bag this time was really light, at least 4 kg less than the other time I went to Labuan which was for what, 3 days? Possibly because I don’t have shoes to bring back but that’s pretty much it. Hmm.. strange. My mum says I should have brought back more so that when I come back at the end of the year, I could carry more. Okay, back to Sunday. Left for Miri by 6 and I slept the whole way through. Went to the airport and checked in while my dad went to park his car somewhere. He came back way after they called for our flight’s passengers. Everyone was queuing up already when we passed immigration but they hadn’t even asked us to board – the plane had not even arrived! People these days are just so impatient. The good thing about going with someone else is you can leave the line and join back at the same spot. I, went to buy a magazine which I was totally ripped off. They charged me almost double. - -“ Never again am I going to buy things from an airport. On the flight, I sat next to a crying kid. It was quite a “pleasant” flight.
My eldest brother picked us up from the airport and we went for lunch after that. We weren’t supposed to though; we were supposed to be going back to my grandma’s house for asam laksa. My brother had instead thought that it was meant for dinner because apparently my aunt said so. Miscommunication. At about 3 pm I followed my aunt and brother out. My brother was going to the Curve to meet up with his friends for a karaoke session at RedBox so, my aunt and I just tagged along. I was tired really but I still went for fun. We circled round and round for parking at Tesco. By the way, Tesco, the Curve, Ikano Power Centre, Ikea and Cineleisure are all linked to each other – and they’re all shopping areas. Tesco has free parking and my aunt wanted to shop for groceries anyways. Guess what we saw while walking to Tesco? A Tesco employee being arrested by police! They didn’t really make it obvious; just one policeman walking in front with the arrested following, his hand held to the back by another policeman. Anyways, we went to the Curve for a while, walked around and looked at the sales. Big sales it seems, may have ended that day though since it was the last day of Malaysian school holidays. I’m not sure. At Tesco, I walked on my own while my aunt did her shopping. Finding her after that, was crazy. There were soooo many people with trolleys everywhere and everyone’s moving at different speeds. I went round and round looking for her.
After dinner, I felt like collapsing onto the bed but I followed my parents to my grandma (dad’s side)’s house. I felt, obliged to, you know? That night I slept late anyways because I stayed up watching the tennis finals.
Monday:
Before 10 am, I was asked (forced) to wake up. It’s Colleges day. First stop was a consultant erm, place. Asked about doing this “aptitude” test my brother did few years back. They said that they only did it 1st and 3rd Saturday but my mum said we won’t be here for it so they specially arranged for one at 1 pm. So then we went over to Taylor’s College and next to Sunway College. They’re both equally pricey my dad says but apparently, my dad has decided on Taylor’s. Taylor’s I now realize, really really does look like a school. Ah well, will decide later. At 12 we went to fetch my grandma (dad) for lunch and then rushed back for my test. The tests, were interesting. There was one on the activities you would like to do and you have to number them – 1 for least interested and 5 for most interested kind of thing. Then there was verbal reasoning which basically dealt with words and comparisons and numerical reasoning which was just numbers. Then there was abstract reasoning and mechanical reasoning. Mechanical reasoning was the worst – all the levers, and very Physics-like stuff. There was one also where the question has 5 pairs of numbers or letters and one of them is underlined. You have to find the underlined one in the answer set which has been rearranged. There’s a time limit for all the tests but this one was especially short. It’s called “Speed and Accuracy”. After that there was spelling and language usage. It was actually quite fun. It’s supposed to take 5 hours or so but I was done earlier than that. I didn’t really take the time to think for every question. I am actually, supposed to be on holiday right? ;p
Today I woke up past 11. Ate breakfast and then lunch soon after with my grandma. My parents are now in Chiangmai(sp?), Thailand. They’ll be there till Friday. I should really learn Teochew; it’s hard communicating with my grandma. Luckily most of her questions only require me to say yes or no or don’t know. Anyways, my aunt’ s going to take me out tomorrow and then should probably be watching Shrek 3 with my brother at night. Today’s likely a pc-day. Oh, I’m using Microsoft Word to type this and it says I’ve got 1550 words and counting. I’m like writing an essay! Great, I have an essay for BASE Science Essay Competition to write. BUT, not going to do it, till much later. Right, I’m using Word because the Internet connection is super unreliable and cuts off every few minutes – this explains why some of you may be seeing me signing in and out of MSN oh so often. I’m not talking to anyone on MSN neither because I think I may not receive their messages or vice versa.
holy crap O_O i take back what i said on my blog, msged you on msn just now but i doubt you received it..anyways just to let you know i’m leaving tmrw at 12.45 so yep take care of yourself haha
Oh my. What a..painful way to start a holiday. Well at least its over and it’ll heal, right? But yeah, have fun and enjoy the not-so-very-long *holidays*, while it lasts!
